A noun clause is a dependent clause that functions as a noun in a sentence. It can act as a subject, object, or complement.

  • In Formal Writing: Always include 'that' after verbs like think, believe, hope, etc.
  • Question Words: Use statement word order (not question order) in noun clauses
  • Whether vs If: Use 'whether' when there's a choice between two alternatives
